Rainbow Serpent
Rainbow Snakes were vibrant multicolored snakes about the size of anacondas. They were constrictors and suffocated their prey before swallowing them whole. Rainbow Serpents were found in hot, humid, wet environments where there is lots of precipitation. Their vibrant colors make it very easy for prey to see them so they often get in the habit of submerging themselves in water, hiding in the shade, or slithering in the mud; doing what they could to limit their visibility. Most would hunt at night to make them even harder to see. They were known for tightly winding themselves around the limbs of trees during the day, waiting for insects and small mammals to stray across their path.
Full grown rainbow serpents could reach a length of 11 meters (35 ft.). The order of color on their scales switched with the gender (see above). Rainbow Serpents could individually adjust both rows of razor sharp teeth to better help them swallow their prey. Early tribes frequently use their vibrant skin for decoration and teeth for jewelry.
