March 1890 is remembered in history as the month the first US naval militia in Massachusetts was organized, and a tornado struck Louisville, Kentucky, killing 76 and injuring 200.
For Fabella, it is the month a dark empire harnessed its explosive might over the world.
I’m Dillon Foley, and this is Archives of Fabella.
Beyond our world, there is love
Beyond our world, there is war
Beyond our world, there is life
Beyond our world, there is Fabella.
Aries 5th, 5890 FY Fabella Year equal to March 25th, 1890 AD Earth Year
Like Earth, Fabella experienced a vast amount of war throughout its history. Four Continental Wars took place during the lifespan of Fabella. The first of which pitted the eastern hemisphere against the western hemisphere and coincided with ammunition in the magical world. The Bloodborne Empire was primarily regarded as the darkest nation in the world. But even countries on the wrong side of history struggled to maintain their foothold during wartime. One of the smallest creatures of Fabella was partly responsible for bringing the world to the brink of destruction.
In 5890, the tension between the eastern and western countries of Fabella was reaching fever pitch as the Bloodborne Empire struggled to defend their significant land holdings in the East. The Western Alliance was nearing victory as they continued to hammer away at the imperial menace. Spies were everywhere, and working to help the Bloodborne Empire secure total dominion over Fabella was a trailblazing spy, Spora Rose.
Rose was famous as the first fairy employed as a spy for the Bloodborne Empire. She was one of the top sources for espionage charged with reporting directly to one of the Empire’s most prized assets; Imperial centaur General Theodore Hamilton.
As a fairy, Spora Rose was not legally regarded as a person in Fabella. Fairies were colorful 6 -12 inch tall creatures. They had no definable gender but appeared to all be female. Though they may have looked female, all fairies possessed dormant male testosterone. When the pack alpha male died, one select fairy would adopt masculine characteristics and become the new alpha male for breeding purposes. Rose wants to be recognized as a person in Fabella, but first, she has to earn that right.
Rose was one of the top spies for the Empire because she could intercept letters between the Western Alliance through the fairy post network, and she could ferret out information in places that a typical spy would not have been able to do. On Aries 5th, she warned General Hamilton that there was a plot to assassinate him on a train to the Bloodborne Capital of Shadowmere.
General Hamilton must travel from the Eastern warfront in Blighton to the capital of Shadowmere by train for his daughter is ill and near death. The airspace over Blighton is fraught with danger, and as a centaur, he can only fly by airship. Thanks to Rose, General Hamilton can make safe arrangements to pass to Shadowmere, but his journey will be far slower than what he initially planned.
Rose brings further disturbing news that the deadly virus plaguing Hamilton’s daughter was poison administered to her by the Western Alliance’s spies. This was a trap to get Hamilton in a position to be assassinated. An antidote for his daughter can be made, but Rose has to fly the 5440 miles to Shadowmere. Just to put that in context, it’s about the distance from Berlin, Germany, to Hong Kong.
Rose immediately took off to fly as fast as she could to the Bloodborne capitol. She flew day and night, stopping only to eat. It took her around three weeks to make the journey, flying through treacherous mountain passes and battlefields.
She made it to Shadowmere just in time to save the life of Hamilton’s daughter. Following her efforts, Rose was recognized by the Empire for her actions and given the status of the first fairy to be given personal rights by the Empire.
Hamilton made it to his daughter’s bedside. Had he not known about his daughter being poisoned, Hamilton would have left the war effort. Because Rose brought news that the Western Alliance had struck a personal attack at his family, Hamilton swore vengeance upon his rivals. This lit a fire in the centaur. Enough for him to develop plans for the first land mines in Fabella.
The development of Land mines is credited with helping the Bloodborne Empire secure victory in the first Continental War, leading them to dominate all of Fabella.
