Battleswine (baht-l-swien)
Battleswine also known as “wild swine” was amongst the widest-ranging mammals in the world. Battleswine were bulky, massively built pigs with short stubby legs. They couldn’t run very fast but they could clear a path through an advancing army in a hurry. Adults grew to about 1.2 m ( 4 ft.) and weighed roughly 225.8 kg (500 lbs.) They were known simply as “Wild Swine” until they emerged as a favored mount during early wars. Equipped with a face full of tusks and horns, they were the first mammal to be incorporated as a mount during wartime primarily for halflings and truly earned their title as “Battleswine.”
