Beisht-Kione

The beisht-kione or “Beast with a Black Head” was one of the most feared sea monsters in all of Fabella. Much too large to venture anywhere near the shore, they lurked in the deepest parts of the ocean using the natural lack of light as camouflage. Attacks were short, swift, and powerful. These silent predators were unrivaled by any creature in the deep blue sea. A lot of the beisht-kione’s humongous size served absolutely no purpose. They had an incredible sense for the touch of another animal brushing up agains their body, but it didn’t do them much good if their head was so far away. In most cases, their body would constrict their prey to keep it from swimming away before the head had a chance to devour it. A beisht-kione’s black head was the most lethal part of the monster. Once any creature glimpsed their glowing yellow eyes, it was already too late.

Beisht-Kione were asexual sea monsters. Younglings formed within its parent as the former was nearing the end of their life. When it was time, the youngling burrowed its way out of their parent, killing it in the process. The new beisht-kione was then free to go about life eating anything and everything it possibly could. Because they reproduced asexually, they had no concept for the emotional attachment. They were relentless, unstoppable, killing machines.
