Here we find a lowly troll named Jin living in the Auslaran community of Koh-roh, buried in the rainforest region of the Far East continent. Like every young boy, Jin has one thing on his mind. Girls. So he takes it pretty hard when he is turned down by a girl he fancies.
Feeling castaway and rejected, Jin is perfect prey for the villainous Dark Lord Malum. The evil god of Fabella appears to Jin, offering him a chance at improving his public image in exchange for his soul. At first, Jin doesn’t want anything to do with Malum’s deal, but when he gets turned down again he agrees to sign the contract.
Malum explains the concept of using magic to improve Jin’s self-image at the cost of humiliating his competition. Jin tries out the jinxes Malum teaches him. He thinks these spells are all childish and doesn’t understand how they’re supposed to help him and is worried that people will get harmed. Malum explains that nobody is really getting hurt. Jin becomes a bully using these new magic spells. He becomes obsessed with using these “jinxes” to curse his competition.
He’s having the time of his life until Malum demands Jin to kill someone. Jin is hesitant to give into Malum’s demands. Malum reminds Jin that he has his soul.
Malum punishes Jin for his insolence by giving him a sudden bout of bad luck. Jin watches as the jinxes Malum taught him spread. After Malum kills the man he wanted dead anyway and frames Jin. Jin is thrown into prison.
Jin meets Lord Lukis in the prison. Lukis explains that tearing people down to build yourself up isn’t a life-giving pursuit. Jin stands up to Malum and with Lukis’ help, breaks the contract to reclaim his soul. In retaliation, Malum takes away his voice. Lukis teaches Jin sign language. Jin meets a mute girl and they live happily ever after.
