Kraken (krah-kehn)

Kraken

Krakens were highly intelligent giant squids. Their biology was so sophisticated they could reflect the pigment of the ocean and camouflage themselves in the deep ocean. There were millions of individually controllable spots that could change color and even mimic the texture of their surroundings. It was suggested by marine biologists in Fabella that they used these spots, or chromatophores, to communicate with each other. Males maintained stronger control over chromatophores than females.
