Lukis (loo-kis)

Statistics

Status: Positive God of Fabella

Lukis was the God of Light or “Good God” of Fabella. He was most commonly depicted as an Arabian teenage boy with amber skin and messy black hair. This was what he looked like before becoming a god when he was just a lowly young boy in Gobekli Tepe. That’s why this was his favorite form to take.

Short Stories

Light of Fabella

Lukis was the main character of this short story, which portrayed the events of Fabella’s creation from his point of view. Here, he fell in love with Adele and — following her passing — fell under the power of Malum. Malum forced him to create Fabella, transforming him into a god. A confused Lukis found himself flung 6035 years into the future. He morphed back to his human form, afraid to be a God. Hagios, the Positive God of Orenda, helped him embrace his godly form. Lukis ultimately confronted Malum, facing off against him in a bitter conflict before taking his place in the sky as Fabella’s sun.

Speech

The common phrase “Look outside of what is possible and think about what might be” was passed down to Lukis from his dearly beloved mate, Adele. He often hesitated before speaking to make sure that he had the right words. All females of Fabella were typically called “daughters” and all males were referred to as “sons.”

Fashion

Robes of light colors were often draped over the body of the godly Lukis upon appearing in any form. He was always seen walking barefoot. Variations of yellow, light blue, white, and light purple were fairly common. Whatever clothing he wore was typically in the fashion of the time period. When announcing himself as a god, Lukis wore a set of sky blue robes accompanied by a gold collar and lilac cuffs.

Social

Before he became a God, Lukis was never creative. Adele taught him how to dream and he eventually produced a painting on animal hide and sculpted a likeness of Adele as a sphinx in Gobekli Tepe. His artistic sensibilities were greatly amplified after becoming a God. Most of the allusions Lukis made were artistic in nature. Among his other constant mannerisms was a delight in taunting evil, and a careful observation of everyone. He expressed himself mostly through action, especially with Emit whom he vowed never to speak to until the end of Fabella. The people of Fabella tended to see Lukis as distant and aloof. They were upset that their prayers didn’t go answered and often thought he didn’t exist.

Trivia

  • Had the longest development process of any character.  There’s been a point in the development process where he was white, black, gay, and disabled.
  • Original story found Lukis (named “Arcadeus”) back then meeting and falling in love with Carmin (A cross between Adele and Malum). Carmin then tricked him into creating “Kleio” (The original name for Fabella).
  • For a long time, Lukis was the first human to evolve from Neanderthals. Malum was his biological father who killed his mother and placed a “disfigured” Lukis in the care of an abusive adoptive mother.
  • Lukis’s original form is that of an Arabian teen.
