The Paragon Tournament
The Paragon Tournament was Fabella’s version of the Olympics. Every three years, athletes from nations all over the world would assemble to compete in this world class tournament.
Only the winner of each event earned the coveted Golden Goblet. The nation whose competitors racked up the most points in the tournament were awarded posession of the Eternal Flame, a holy artifact rumored to grant its owner success in every quest. Regardless of wheather the rumors were true or not, countries which posessed the Eternal Flame traditionally enjoyed three years of good fortune.
History
When the Olympians reigned supreme as the greatest god-like sorcerers in the world, rising empires battled for dominance over the world. Countless lives were lost in battles as every nation felt the heavy burden of war.
Then, one day, the harpy Unitisian Emperor Paragonius spread his wings over all the kingdoms and proposed another way to solve their differences. Each of the nations would pick champions to represent them in a peaceful test of raw skill and endurance. The champions who won the most challenges would be able to claim victory as the greatest superpower in the world without shedding a drop of blood.
